Design Project Day 5

1. Go to the classroom that has your game. Take a photo of it. Then ask the students what they liked and didn't like about the game. (10 minutes)
Liked
  • They told us that they really liked throwing the ball in the aim game and that they liked the maze.
Dislike
  • They didn't mention anything they disliked.
2. Back in F19, discuss with your group what your goals were for making it fun...and did you meet those goals. Why or why not?
  • We forgot to bring the little prizes but they really liked the variety of games which was one of our aims "It's fun because there are many games" and apparently, they didn't find it difficult so "It is fun because it's not too hard"
3. On your blog, reflect on the following questions
-What was the biggest problem you encountered? How did you solve it?
Just before taking the games to the classroom we noticed that the magnets were staying in place. We applied more glue and few seconds later, the magnets were perfectly glued.

-When did you get your biggest "AH HA" idea? What was it?
When we all gave our ideas we decided to put all our four ideas together. We thought that it would be more fun if we had multiple games. We also noticed later that it would let the children play together with their friends.

-Who in your group resisted new ideas the most and why? Who in your group played "devil's advocate" (a person who questions everything, even good ideas) and how did that help the process?
I don't really think anyone in my group was being like this.. or at least their resistance, doubts or questions didn't make it out from their mouth.

-What doubts did YOU have about the project and how did you overcome those doubts?
Our audience was primary kids, but I thought we were going to give the game to first or second grade. When we were taking the game to a K-4 class all I thought was if it was going to be more difficult for them. Today, however, I noticed that they had no problems and they loved it.

-What did you learn about yourself, teamwork, and the design process?
I usually prefer to do projects on my own but this one was different. We all kind of did our part during the building phase but helped each other putting some glue here holding something to put tape on it. It was still fun!
